Feature-Packed Equinox Is Appealing

The 2017 Chevy Equinox is offered in four trims: L, LS, LT and Premier. Standard equipment on the L includes 17-inch alloys, automatic headlights and a 60/40-split second-row seat. The new Midnight package, a favorite of 2017 Chevy Equinox reviews, comes with 18-inch black-painted wheels, various black exterior accents and black leather trim. The Sport package gets the same wheels, accents and leather in white.

The entry-level L model also gets fun tech features like a 7-inch touchscreen interface and a six-speaker sound system with an auxiliary audio input jack and a USB port. LS purchasers get much of these same features with a few extras that include satellite radio, a compass and an optional towing package, which can also be had on LT and Premier trims for an additional cost.

Chevy SUV Offers Dynamic Driving

A 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine can be found under the hood of the entry-level Equinox L, which is able to achieve 182 horsepower and 172 pound-feet of torque. The LT and Premier models can be outfitted with an available 3.6-liter V6 that generates 301 horsepower and 272 pound-feet of torque. Both engines come standard with a six-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive. All-wheel drive is offered on all trims except the base Equinox L model. When properly equipped the four-cylinder powerplant can tow up to 1,500 pounds, while the V6 is able to pull up to 3,500 pounds.

Safety Takes Top Priority

The 2017 Chevy Equinox in Kansas City is the perfect pick for those who are looking for an SUV that comes well-equipped with top-tier safety tech. At the standard level, all Equinox models get antilock brakes, front-seat side impact airbags and side curtain airbags. For more safety gear, go with an LT or Premier, which can both be purchased with several optional features like rear parking sensors and blind-spot monitoring. The Premier can also be had with forward collision alert and lane departure warning technologies.
