What Does Chevrolet Warranty Cover?

The Chevrolet New Vehicle Warranty program provides the following coverage:

  • Bumper-to-Bumper Limited Warranty
  • Three years/36,000-mile warranty provides bumper-to-bumper vehicle coverage. Repairs due to faulty workmanship or material defects are covered, including parts, towing, and labor is covered without charge.

  • Chevrolet Limited Powertrain Warranty coverage is for five years/60,000-miles, whatever occurs first. Powertrain and related components included in coverage are the transfer case, drive system, engine, transmission, and transaxle.
  • Chevrolet also offers warranties specifically for truck engines. Trucks in the 2500 and 3500 Series Heavy Duty pickups powered by the 6.6L Duramax Turbo-Diesel have five years/100,000-mile powertrain warranties.

  • Chevrolet Corrosion Warranty protects the sheet metal for 3 years/36,000-miles, whatever occurs first. Coverage of rust-through protects for six years/100,000-miles. Surface and cosmetic corrosion from scratches such as in the paint or stone chips are not covered.
  • Chevrolet Accessory Warranty covers items not covered by the Chevrolet powertrain or bumper-to-bumper warranty. These accessory items not covered by the aforementioned warranties are covered with a 12-month unlimited mile warranty. Accessories purchased separately or that do not require installation have 12-month warranties from the purchase date.
  • Chevrolet Emission Controls Warranty covers both California and Federal Emission Control Systems. The warranty coverage is for two years for light-duty trucks and cars for two years/24,000-miles and eight years/80,000-miles for catalytic converters and associated parts. Vehicles with Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) of more than 8,500 pounds are covered five years/50,000-miles.
  • Supplemental coverage is provided for Chevrolet Volt, Malibu, and Bolt EV hybrid and electric vehicles. In addition to the Chevrolet bumper-to-bumper warranties, this coverage additionally covers eight years/100,000-miles, whichever occurs first.
  • Chevy Extended Limited Warranty option provides extending the three years/36,000-mile bumper-to-bumper to 5 years/60,000-miles.
