Specs at a Glance
The 2021 Chevrolet Suburban LS is available with up to nine seats. Topping off the lineup, the High Country edition offers up to eight seats. Both full-size SUVs are loaded with signature features from General Motors.
Performance
The 2021 Suburban LS is equipped with a 5.3-liter engine block that generates 355 total horsepower. Designed to improve fuel economy, the Dynamic Fuel Management is deployed under the hood of this base trim. When working at 4,100 RPM, the V-8 powertrain dishes out 383 pound-feet of torque. The High Country is driven by a 6.2-L engine that's rated at 420 hp and 460 lb-ft. The DFM technology is incorporated into this high-output propulsion system. Both Chevy editions are available with a 3.0-L engine that burns diesel fuel. Key specifications of the Duramax engine are 277 hp and 460 lb-ft. A turbocharger boosts this exclusive powerplant. A 10-speed automatic transmission system works with all engines on the lineup. Standard on the High Country trim, the Magnetic Ride Control scans the road for imperfections and obstacles.
This highly responsive technology automatically optimizes the performance of the suspension system. You may also add the Adaptive Air Suspension to this high-end Suburban model. Additionally, this luxurious Chevrolet SUV rolls on the Autotrac transfer case that quickly shifts between two speeds. Both three-row models offer a 4WD system and the StabiliTrak technology for enhanced all-weather handling. When properly configured, the LS and High Country trims can tow a trailer that weighs slightly more than 8,000 pounds as measured by SAE J2807 towing tests.
Appearance
The 2021 Suburban LS is fitted with 18.0-inch aluminum wheels that have Bright Silver paint. Covered in chrome, the High Country's 22.0-inch wheels have a six-spoke design. Some other design options for the car's wheels include Midnight Silver, Carbon Flash, and Black Gloss. This premium Chevy SUV also flaunts body-colored, heated side mirrors with power controls. Additionally, the High Country Deluxe package adds a sunroof and power-retractable side steps to this large family vehicle.
Features
A hands-free power liftgate with emblem projection is installed on the 2021 Chevy Suburban High Country. You'll also get premium features inside the large cabin, such as 12-way front seats with heating and leather trimming. Rated at 120 volts, a power outlet is standard inside the LS model. Some other default features inside this base trim include the Cargo Management System and leather-wrapped steering wheel.
